Favus

What is Favus

Favus is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which affects the scalp, and causes nail pitting or deterioration and affects glaborous skin. Favus occurs where there is overcrowding and in unhygienic environments. It is caused by one of the following dermatophytes : Microsporum Gypseum, Trichophyton Violaceum, Trichophyton Schoenleinii, Trichophyton Mentagrophytes.
