Rosacea - Symptoms, treatment, home remedies for Rosacea

What is Rosacea

Rosacea is a non-contagious long-lasting skin disorder of the facial skin. Rosacea is a red facial rash that most often affects those aged 30 to 60, especially those with fair skin, blue eyes and of Celtic origin. Rosacea is a congestive blushing and flushing reaction of the central areas of the face. It is usually associated with an acne iform component (papules, pustules, and oily skin). The disorder is characterized by redness, pimples, and, in advanced stages, thickened skin.

It is much more common than lupus erythematosus, with which it is often confused. Rosacea is distinguished from acne by age, the presence of the vascular component, and the absence of comedones.

Rosacea Causes

The exact causes of rosacea are not yet known. There are several theories regarding the origin of overactive facial blood vessels and inflammation, including genetic, environmental, vascular, inflammatory factors. It is believed to be a hereditary disease. Rosacea can be triggered by certain things like hot weather, exercise, stress, spicy foods and alcohol.
