Applying Make up - How to Apply Makeup

Be prepared to make a few mistakes before you find out which particular makeup products suit you. Remember that your requirements may change with age, but basically here is what you will need for applying make up correctly, apart from your skin care kit of cleansers, toners and moisturisers to equip yourself and these are - eyeshadows, eyeliners, mascara, face powder, blush, lipstick and applying foundation.

Anyone who wants to be proficient in the art of applying make up will find a vast and exciting range of cosmetics to choose from. Before the start of make up you should choose well lighted area. All make up tools and products you need should be besides you.

Always begin your makeup routine by cleansing, toning and moisturising skin. Make up that is applied to the skin that is not scrupulously clean will clog the pores and will look stale and unattractive. Wheather you cleanse a skin with a cream, a milk, or a mild soap and warm water, a tonner will put life and freshness to your skin and close the pores.

If you have dry or sensitive skin choose a toner that does not contain alcohol. More astringent preperations can be used on oily skins. Every step in applying make-up must merge with the previous one.

If your forehead and nose tend to be greasy and rest of the face is dry, you should be wise to use two different preparations.

Moisturisers are important for nourishing and protecting the skin. They leave it soft and smooth so that foundation can be applied evenly. To warm up a swallon skin, use a moisturiser that is slightly mauve-tinted. A greenish one will calm down a florid complexion, and a rosy one bring to life a pallid face. Use tinted conditioners sparingly, otherwise you will end up with a green or mauve face.
