Applying Foundation Make up - How to Apply Foundation

Even the most beautiful skin needs foundation application to even out skin tones. Foundations are available in liquid or gels, creams, or solid sticks or cakes. Choice of applying foundation colour should be as light as possible - indeed it should not be obvious that you are wearing one. To soak up excess oil and for a natural look, blot the face with a tissue after applying the foundation.

Mask-like faces are very ageing. Your skin look at its best when it feels alive and glowing with health. The colour of your foundation is important, it should bend as closely as possible with your skin tone to avoid a jarring change at the jawline.

Choosing Foundation Type and Shade

You can choose from liquid foundation to cream and solid foundation, which comes in a stick. Liquid foundation are light, but they tend to streak, cream foundatuons are generally best for a normal skin. Sticks are useful for covering spots and blemishes. Choose a warm, pink tone of foundation for a sallow skin.

To tone down a too pink skin, choose a beige colour foundation. A highly coloured complexion can be toned down with a greenish base, lightly applied beneath a beige foundation.

Applying Foundation

1. First task is to apply moisturizer to the face and then use a sponge to apply and dot it over the face-on the nose, the cheeks, the chin.

2. Properly bland the foundation in both upward and downwards direction to get a smooth look.

3. Remove the excess leftover by bloting your face with a tissue after applying the foundation.
